Dante’s Gym uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the website, understand how visitors use it, display embedded content, and support affiliate relationships.
This Cookie Policy explains what those technologies are, why they are used, and the choices available to you.
This policy should be read together with the Privacy Policy.
What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small files that websites can store on your browser or device.
They can be used for purposes such as remembering preferences, measuring website traffic, maintaining security, displaying third-party content, and tracking referrals.
Similar technologies, including pixels, scripts, local storage, and tracking identifiers, may perform comparable functions.
Cookies Used by Dante’s Gym
Dante’s Gym may use several categories of cookies and similar technologies.
Necessary Cookies
Necessary cookies help the website function properly.
They may be used for website security, caching, basic functionality, consent preferences, and other features required for the site to operate.
Because these technologies are necessary for basic website functionality, they may be used without optional cookie consent where permitted by law.
Analytics Cookies
Dante’s Gym uses Google Analytics to understand how people use the website.
Google Analytics may collect information about website activity such as pages viewed, session information, approximate geographic location, browser and device characteristics, referral sources, and interactions with website content.
Google Analytics may use cookies such as _ga and related identifiers when analytics storage is permitted.
I use this information to understand which pages are useful, identify problems, measure website traffic, and improve Dante’s Gym.
Where consent is required, Google Analytics will not be permitted to use analytics cookies until the appropriate consent has been provided.
Google supports Consent Mode so website owners can communicate a visitor’s consent choices to Google. Under Google’s basic consent mode, Google tags are prevented from loading until the visitor interacts with the consent banner and provides permission. Google Help
Email and MailerLite
Dante’s Gym uses MailerLite to provide email subscription forms and manage email communications.
When you voluntarily submit an email address or other information through a MailerLite form, MailerLite may process that information in order to provide the requested email service.
MailerLite may also use technologies associated with its forms and email services to measure interactions, delivery, email opens, and link clicks.
Email marketing information is described in more detail in the Dante’s Gym Privacy Policy.
Embedded YouTube Content
Some pages on Dante’s Gym contain videos embedded from YouTube.
Embedded YouTube content may communicate with Google and YouTube when it is loaded or played.
Where practical, Dante’s Gym uses YouTube’s Privacy Enhanced Mode through the youtube-nocookie.com domain. Google states that this mode prevents an embedded video view from being used to personalize the viewer’s YouTube experience and uses non-personalized ads within the privacy-enhanced player. Google Help
Where consent is required, YouTube embeds may be blocked until you allow the applicable cookie or media category.
A placeholder may be displayed instead of the video until consent is provided.
Affiliate and Referral Tracking
Dante’s Gym participates in affiliate programs.
When you click an affiliate link, the retailer, affiliate network, or other third party may use cookies, referral identifiers, URL parameters, or similar technologies to determine that the referral came from Dante’s Gym.
These technologies may record information such as the affiliate link clicked, the referral source, the date and time of the click, browser or device information, and whether a qualifying purchase occurred.
This allows an affiliate program to determine whether Dante’s Gym should receive a commission.
Using an affiliate link does not increase the price you pay.
Dante’s Gym participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program and may participate in affiliate programs operated by other retailers and fitness companies.
The specific cookies used by third-party affiliate programs, including their names and expiration periods, are controlled by those third parties and may change over time.
More information is available in the Affiliate Disclosure.
Third-Party Cookies
Some technologies used on Dante’s Gym are provided by other companies.
These may include Google, YouTube, MailerLite, Amazon, affiliate networks, retailers, hosting providers, security services, and other website-service providers.
Third parties may set or access cookies according to their own privacy and cookie policies.
I do not control the contents of cookies placed directly by unrelated third parties after you leave Dante’s Gym.
How Long Cookies Last
Some cookies are session cookies, meaning they expire when you close your browser.
Others are persistent cookies and remain on your device for a specified period or until you delete them.
The duration varies depending on the cookie and the company providing it.
Because third-party services may change their cookies over time, the website’s consent-management system may provide a more current list of detected cookies and their expiration periods.
Your Cookie Choices
Where required, Dante’s Gym provides controls allowing you to decide whether optional cookies may be used.
You may be able to accept all cookies, reject non-essential cookies, or select individual categories.
You can change your preferences later through the cookie settings control available on the website.
You may also delete or block cookies using your browser settings.
Blocking certain technologies may prevent some website features, such as embedded videos, from working normally.
Consent
Where applicable law requires consent, Dante’s Gym will request permission before using non-essential cookies or similar technologies.
The UK Information Commissioner’s Office states that organizations generally need to clearly explain non-essential cookies and obtain an active consent choice before setting them. It also says simply continuing to browse is not sufficient consent. ICO
Changes to This Cookie Policy
I may update this Cookie Policy when website technology, service providers, cookies, or legal requirements change.
The Last updated date at the top of this page will be changed when the policy is revised.
